ART BRUSSELS 2025

For this new edition of Art Brussels, we bring together the works of three international artists from the gallery — Pierre Gaignard (1986, France), Romeo Gómez López (1991, Mexico), and Miron Schmückle (1966, Romania) — whose practices invent speculative worlds at the crossroads of nature, technology, and fiction.

Pierre Gaignard is a French artist and sculptor, co-founder of the Wonder collective. Author of a thesis on Le bruit de l’archive (The noise of the archive), his plastic works reflects upon the “hyper-matter” of information technologies. His installation « Griza:j Hypermat’ (lithophanie pour une IA) » was created using a line of code that allows intermediate images to be preserved during AI-assisted generation. Printed in 3D, these objects are contemporary versions of the eponymous technique materialised as simple neon covers, attaching to pre-existing lighting systems in place of the original reflectors. This installation was recently featured in the Quantum Leap exhibition curated by Marion Zilio in Brussels.

Romeo Gómez López is a Mexican artist whose work draws on mass culture, religion, political iconography, and science fiction to challenge the conservative frameworks of contemporary art. With wit and sharpness, his practice moves between prehistory, the present, and speculative futures. Alongside the fair, he presents his first European solo show in our Brussels space. 2025: A Space Algodicy explores the meaning of suffering in a world shaped by crisis, capitalism, and digital domination — envisioning possible futures through empathy, resistance, and poetic irony.

We also present the work of Miron Schmückle, a Romanian-born artist based in Berlin for over twenty years, whose recent exhibitions include the Städel Museum and our Paris gallery. His delicate paintings, titled in Latin, mimic scientific illustrations while inventing a lush, seductive flora that doesn’t exist on Earth — a fictional nature that disturbs our usual ways of seeing and classifying.
