ART KARLSRUHE 2026

On the occasion of ART KARLSRUHE 2026, Galerie Eric Mouchet presents a selection of works bringing into dialogue historical avant-gardes and contemporary artistic practices.
 
Within the “re:framed” section, the gallery presents works by Ella Bergmann-Michel (1896–1971) and Robert Michel (1897–1983), key figures of the German avant-garde of the 20th century.
 
The gallery devotes a “one:artist show” to Kubra Khademi (born 1989), a Hazara artist and performer of Afghan origin, whose work examines structures of power and patriarchal violence while affirming representations of strong and free women.
 
The presentation is complemented by works by Christine Crozat (born 1952), who explores memory, trace, and the fragility of forms through works on paper; Bertrand Hugues (born 1967), who investigates perception and the forms of the living through photography; and Miron Schmückle (born 1966), whose paintings subverts the codes of scientific illustration to give life to a lush and captivating flora, entirely fictional.

La Galerie Eric Mouchet représente essentiellement de jeunes artistes contemporains aux démarches prospectives. Les sujets de recherche portent sur la géopolitique, la sociologie, l’écologie, les questions de société et de genre, sans limitation de média ou de forme. Elle bénéficie également d’une expertise dans les avant-gardes historiques françaises et allemandes qui offre la possibilité d’interconnexions entre l’art du XXe siècle et l’art d’aujourd’hui.

En 2022, la galerie ouvre un espace à Bruxelles, Avenue Van Volxem, en face du WIELS. Installé dans une maison bourgeoise de 400 m² avec trois niveaux d’exposition et un jardin, ce lieu, développé en partenariat avec la Galerie Martin Kudlek (Cologne) et Patrick Heide Contemporary Art (Londres), favorise les collaborations européennes et la circulation des artistes et des œuvres, avec le soutien de la collectionneuse Galila Barzilai Hollander.

ABOUT

Galerie Eric Mouchet primarily represents young contemporary artists with forward-looking practices. Their research topics focus on geopolitics, sociology, ecology, social issues, and gender, without limitation to media or form. The gallery also has expertise in French and German historical avant-gardes, enabling connections between 20th-century art and contemporary art.

In 2022, the gallery opened a space in Brussels on Avenue Van Volxem, opposite WIELS. Housed in a 400 m² townhouse with three exhibition floors and a garden, the space—developed in partnership with Galerie Martin Kudlek (Cologne) and Patrick Heide Contemporary Art (London)—fosters European collaboration and the circulation of artists and artworks, with the support of collector Galila Barzilai Hollander.
