Galerie Eric Mouchet presents, from 1 April to 27 May 2017, the first personal exhibition from Samir Mougas “.TECHNO” with support from CNAP.
The exhibition proposes to make visible the artist’s many trips between the real and the virtual. The show is organized around two series: Surfaces Informées (Informed Surfaces), two sculptures on a human scale and Objets Sombres (Somber Objects), a collection of wall reliefs.
For Samir Mougas it’s a question of showing how certain 3D modelling work processes, today, renew the approach to sculpture.
The exhibition’s title expresses his exploration of today’s technological conditions of art production.
It also reflects his interest in the forms of synthetic music, which accompany his work and nourish his imagination. This same music that influenced abstract artists in the nineties who worked on the fringes, like the painter Stéphane Dafflon, multimedia artist Carsten Nicolai and The Designer’s Republic, the graphic designers of the celebrity music label, Warp Records.
