Christine Crozat (born in 1952 in Lyon, lives and works between Paris and Lyon) practices drawing, printmaking, wall-paper, installations, sculpture-object and video.
Interested in what arises in movement and in displacement, she lives in two cities since the 1990s. She travels by train is for her moments of reverie, sleep, reflection and creation. Interested in the condition of man, his fragility, his place in our world, she chose very young to go to work in a psychiatric hospital.
She seeks for twenty years to help patients reconstruct a thread of their history in weekly workshops which she conducts in parallel with her own artistic research process. Since 2012, she regularly undertakes trips throughout Japan
Her work has been presented in several institutions such as the Domaine de Kerguehennec, Brittany France (2021), at the Musée de l’Hospice Saint-Roch (2021), at the Museum of Contemporary Art Lyon (2021), at the Museum of Fine Arts in Caen (2009). Her work is present in the collections of the National Fund for Contemporary Art, Paris, the National Library of France, Paris, the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris, the Contemporary Art Fund of the City of Paris, the Municipal Contemporary Art Fund, Geneva, the Cantonal Fund, Geneva, the Cabinet des Estampes, Geneva, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Lyon, the Mudac, Lausanne, the Réattu Museum, Arles, the Musée-Château, Annecy, the Museum of Fine Arts, Caen etc.
